Santa trains are right on track

National rail services might have been badly affected by the cold snap, but Great Central Railway's Santa Season trains are still running this week.

Steam train services will run as scheduled today, tomorrow and Friday.

Bill Ford, president of the Great Central Railway, said: "It has been an extraordinary effort to keep all our services on track, but it is a tribute to the entire team that we haven't had to cancel a single service.

"This has been our busiest Santa Season ever and we have been forced to add many extra trains, such has been the demand for seats. At a time when people are cancelling trains, we've put more in the timetable."
