KIRK ELLA: Motorists are being reminded about a road closure along Riplingham Road in Kirk Ella.

The work to install a new water main starts on Monday and it is anticipated it will be completed within a week.

The alternative route for traffic affected is via Riplingham Road, West Ella; Packman Lane, Church Lane and Beverley Road, Kirk Ella; The Square, Beverley Road and Great Gutter Lane, Willerby; and the A164.

The road will be open at all times for the emergency services, residents' access and pedestrians.

CHERRY BURTON: Soft bowls sessions are held at the village hall on Tuesdays from 3pm to 4pm.

The aim of the event is provide a fun, social activity where the group split into teams and play a round robin tournament each week.

Sessions cost �1.50 each, which includes tea and refreshments.

EAST YORKS: The Castle Hill Cardiac Support Group is holding its next meeting on Thursday.

The aim of the team is to give help and guidance to people undergoing open heart surgery. The support is also for their families.

The event will be held in the Lecture Theatre at Castle Hill Hospital, Cottingham, at 10.15am.

HULL: Local historian Rob Robinson will be hosting a talk on Tuesday.

The event, entitled Things You Never Knew About Hull, will run from 7.30pm to 9pm at the Carnegie Heritage Centre, Anlaby Road, Hull.

A contribution of �1 is requested and tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.
