A PHOTOGRAPHIC celebration of Leicestershire sport is to go on tour.
For the past three months, Leicester Mercury photographers have been compiling a portfolio of 24 images which capture the essence of our sporting men and women.
The Back Page exhibition features some of the city and county's most high profile sporting characters, as well as shots of grassroots sports.
The images were unveiled at the Leicester Mercury Sports Awards, held at the Walkers Stadium on Thursday night.
Mike Sewell, a Leicester Mercury photographer and the organiser of the exhibition, said: "This is something that I've been so passionate about for the last few months and it's great to finally see it come to fruition.
"The exhibition also features some pictures from our archive, but the majority have been shot especially for this over the past three months."
The exhibition includes Leicester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, snooker star Mark Selby and boxer Rendall Munroe.
"Rendall was an absolute pleasure to work with," said Mike. "When I asked him to get involved he said yes straight away. He's a great bloke, and when he saw his portrait at the sports awards he wanted to take it home with him!"
The exhibition is expected to visit a number of museums, galleries and leisure centres over the next few months.
