'We'll keep searching for Michael': Pensioner went missing two years ago

The search for Hull pensioner Michael Conboy will continue, police say, two years after he went missing.

Mr Conboy, then 80, was reported missing from his home in Saxcourt, Hull, on Monday, April 20, 2009.

Despite large-scale police searches in the city and numerous appeals for information he has never been found.

Mr Conboy is described as white, 5ft 4in to 5ft 5in, very slim and balding with grey-coloured hair, and clean-shaven. He may be wearing glasses and usually dresses smartly, wearing a shirt, tie and trousers.

Nephew Paul Robinson said: "He is in our thoughts every day. We can't believe that there is still no news.

"What are we supposed to think? What else are we supposed to do?"

Mr Conboy's brother, James, said: "The family is still missing him, still hoping for something to happen, still in limbo."

DC Alex Longbone appealed for people to come forward with any information that might relate to the case.

He said: "What happened to Michael Conboy remains a mystery and I can not begin to imagine what his family have been through over the last two years.

"Despite a thorough investigation Michael still has not been found. So we are again asking the public to think back two years to anything no matter how small that may assist us in finding him."

Anyone with information can call Humberside Police on 0845 6060222.
